LMG Aggregator: Loan Market and Broker Models

LMG (Loan Market Group) is a family-owned aggregator that supports brokers under their own brand or the Loan Market name. Loan Market is the group's consumer-facing broker brand. Your membership model decides how you trade, pay for support and use that brand.

LMG and Loan Market Explained

LMG is the aggregation group behind Loan Market and the former PLAN, Choice and FAST businesses. Its organisation description says it is family-owned and led. Lendi does not own Loan Market.

A borrower finding a Loan Market broker is using the consumer brand. A broker joining LMG is choosing an aggregation arrangement, which can include trading under the Loan Market name or their own name.

LMG describes insurance and wealth partners in its diversification services. These are partner services, so joining an aggregator does not itself authorise you to give insurance or financial advice.

LMG also publishes analysis of lodgements, settlements and borrower trends. Its mortgage data describes activity across its network. It does not predict the leads or revenue a particular member will receive.

Branded and Own-Brand Membership

LMG's residential choices are Flat Fee, Partner and Loan Market. Bring Your Own Brand, often shortened to BYOB, is the earlier own-brand model. The own-brand path now sits alongside the Loan Market branded arrangement.

Your trading name and credit licence are separate. An own-brand broker can hold an Australian credit licence (ACL) or work under a licensee's authorisation. The aggregation agreement must permit the name you use.

Your Credit Guide must identify the licensee and your credit representative authorisation where applicable. Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) credit disclosure guidance explains the required licence or representative details. A brokerage logo does not replace those disclosures.

The Loan Market arrangement includes use of its consumer brand. Read the brand-use terms for permitted logos, advertising approvals and what must change when the arrangement ends. An own-brand arrangement keeps your business identity separate from Loan Market's national marketing.

LMG publicly says a departing member keeps their trail book. Client ownership, contact permissions and data export still need distinct clauses in your agreement. Compare continued trail payments with who controls the website, phone number and client records after exit.

PLAN, Choice and FAST: Now Part of LMG

Loan Market Group bought NAB's PLAN Australia, Choice and FAST aggregation businesses in 2021. NAB's transaction adviser, Flagstaff Partners, records the sale. LMG subsequently combined the aggregation brands under its own name.

Choice Aggregation Services

Choice Aggregation Services is the former NAB aggregation business acquired by LMG. The Choice brand folded into LMG. It is unrelated to Mortgage Choice and distinct from ChoiceLend, the lending brand.

A Choice-labelled commission statement identifies the report family used when it was issued. An old Choice agreement identifies your contractual arrangement. Neither label turns the document into a current LMG workbook or automatically replaces the terms you signed.

FAST

The former FAST website, fastgroup.com.au, now leads to LMG. This reflects the group's brand consolidation. A website redirect does not rewrite a broker's commission split, exit provisions or rights to trail.

Read a legacy FAST agreement alongside any later variation or replacement. Keep FAST commission records in their original format so you can match payments to the correct reporting period and agreement.

PLAN Australia

PLAN Australia also sits within LMG, and planaustralia.com.au now leads to LMG. A PLAN-labelled agreement or commission record remains evidence of the arrangement or payment it describes.

The group's consolidation announcement said existing businesses would retain their arrangement unless they chose a different service plan. Use signed variations to establish what changed in yours.

MyCRM, Lender Access and Support

MyCRM is LMG's broker platform for residential, commercial and asset finance. LMG's technology page describes one platform across those lending categories. Our MyCRM guide covers its capabilities in more detail.

A platform that handles a lending category does not give every broker accreditation with every lender. Your accreditations decide which lenders you can write with. Your membership and support package decide which specialist assistance you receive.

LMG lists Elevate as a business-owner program within the growth support for Partner and Loan Market members. Treat it as that program, separately from MyCRM and lender accreditation.

Commercial and Licensing Decisions

Compare the full arrangement with your business model before choosing LMG. The LMG plan and fee schedule covers starting prices and revenue share. Our aggregator fee comparison explains flat fees against commission splits.

LMG's published plan descriptions separate Flat Fee, Partner and Loan Market inclusions. A national brand campaign belongs to the branded model. A group-level support description does not put every service in your agreement.

  • Identify the entity that pays your commission, the deductions it can make and how disputed payments are reconciled.
  • Confirm the licensee, your authorisation and whether the chosen model accommodates your own ACL.
  • Read the client-data clauses for access, marketing permissions, retention and export when you leave.
  • Match the permitted trading name and logo use to the model, including the process for ending branded membership.
  • Confirm continuing trail, outstanding clawbacks and any notice or transfer requirements in the signed agreement.

A hypothetical own-brand broker moving to Loan Market must account for the branding change as well as fees. Their website and client disclosures need to match the new arrangement. The trail entitlement and client-data provisions remain separate decisions.

Track My Trail With LMG Reports

We read current LMG reports through the LMG report route in Track My Trail. Upload two monthly reports to Quick Analysis to see which clients were added or dropped off and how the month's trail changed. Quick Analysis stores nothing.

With opt-in Trail History, Missing Trail Analysis separates loans whose trail stopped and later returned from clients who discharged. You can take the missing months and amounts back to the aggregator when you reconcile the payments.

Legacy Choice XLS reports load natively in Quick Analysis and Trail History, unchanged. A legacy Choice file is a different input from a current LMG workbook. Choose the report family that matches the file in front of you.

For legacy FAST records, use the Generic CSV template. A FAST report needs that preparation even though legacy Choice has its own route. PDF to CSV converts a statement PDF into rows you check and download for analysis.
