Mortgage Choice Aggregator: The Franchise Model

Mortgage Choice is a broker franchise network with aggregation services, owned by REA Group. Brokers join a branded business model with lender access and the network’s Broker Platform.

Mortgage Choice as a Broker Network

Mortgage Choice franchisees run mortgage broking businesses under the Mortgage Choice brand. The network combines franchise support with the lender relationships and systems brokers use to arrange loans.

Mortgage Choice’s franchise website states that the network has more than 1,000 brokers. Its public disclosures identify REA Group Limited as the owner of Mortgage Choice Pty Limited and Smartline Operations Pty Limited.

Choice Aggregation is a separate business in LMG. Mortgage Choice’s franchise model is one option in the comparison of Australian mortgage broker franchises.

Franchise Structure and Branding

Mortgage Choice publishes options to start a franchise, buy an existing business or work as a mobile broker. Its franchise recruitment brochure says brokers can work across several areas without territory restrictions.

A franchise means operating under the network’s brand. Before signing, read the agreement’s requirements for signage and marketing approval, and how those requirements apply to your chosen business format.

Mortgage Choice Amplify and Mortgage Choice Freedom are branded loan products, not names for franchise membership tiers. Mortgage Choice lists both in its home loan range.

Licensing, Panel and Member Support

The network’s customer charter and credit guide identifies two licensees. Mortgage Choice Pty Limited holds Australian credit licence 382869, and Smartline Operations Pty Limited holds Australian credit licence 385325. Your appointment determines which licensee you represent.

Joining the franchise and gaining lender accreditation are separate steps. Mortgage Choice says franchisees can seek accreditation with its panel lenders. Membership does not itself establish that a broker can submit to every lender.

Mortgage Choice describes induction and mentoring, alongside compliance and marketing support. The franchise agreement and supporting documents determine your obligations and the support you receive. Read how compliance supervision works, who handles escalations and what service commitments apply to your business.

Broker Platform and Network Sign-In

The Mortgage Choice Broker Platform supports loan origination and the broker’s client workflow. Mortgage Choice’s support page dates its investment in the purpose-built platform to 2018. It describes pipeline dashboards, transaction modelling and a catalogue of panel lender products.

Mortgage Choice’s platform announcement describes integration with its CRM, File Manager workflow system and MyHub customer portal. The CRM holds the client relationship, while the origination tools support the application.

Franchisees and authorised staff reach the Broker Platform through the network’s approved sign-in supplied during onboarding. Use your own account. Permissions follow your role, and credentials must never be shared. If your access fails, use the network’s IT support to restore your account or correct your permissions.

MyHub is the customer portal for collecting information and documents for a loan application. A Mortgage Choice office’s appointment guidance explains that clients receive their MyHub link by email and complete a fact find there. The public Mortgage Choice customer login is for borrowers managing branded home loans. For broker work, use the network sign-in.

The Commercial Franchise Decision

Mortgage Choice publishes a $10,000 start-up franchise fee for approved candidates starting a new franchise, including training and marketing support. Other business setup costs remain separate. Confirm the fee’s GST treatment in your written offer.

Request the complete commercial terms before you compare the franchise with another arrangement:

  • Entry charges, ongoing franchise fees and any technology or marketing charges.
  • Your upfront and trail commission share, payment timing and deductions, including clawback handling.
  • Lead allocation rules, any lead charges and the effect of your location or office format.
  • Territorial terms, permitted marketing areas and the rules for competing franchise businesses.
  • Rights to client relationships and trail income during membership and after exit, including sale and transfer conditions.

A brand and a lead channel can affect how you build your business. The agreement also decides what happens to that business when you leave. Compare the aggregator fee models using the income you retain after charges, and include the costs of switching aggregators.

The comparison of mortgage broker aggregators helps you assess other network models alongside the franchise offer.

Track My Trail With Mortgage Choice Reports

Track My Trail accepts original Mortgage Choice XLSX loan book reports when every contributing loan has a usable loan reference. Upload two original monthly reports without changing them.

Check the loan reference column before uploading. Loans without a usable reference cannot be compared month to month. The report handbook contains the Mortgage Choice upload guidance.

From those two reports, Quick Analysis explains the change in your trail. You can see added and discharged loans, as well as large balance changes that affect your income. We read the reports you upload without connecting to Mortgage Choice’s systems.

With stored reports in Trail History, Missing Trail Analysis finds loans whose trail stopped and later returned. It separates those gaps from discharges, giving you the months and amounts to raise with the network.

You work from the original reports Mortgage Choice already provides, with no spreadsheet formulas to maintain. See the supported aggregator reports if your brokerage also manages another trail book.
