Every required detail is filled in. Print the letter for the donor to sign and date.
The letter updates as you fill in the form. It has 10 blank lines, including the signature and date lines.
Lenders differ in the gift evidence they accept. Some ask the donor to complete the lender's own form or a statutory declaration instead of a letter.
Your entries stay in this browser. The tool does not upload or save your entries, so print or download the letter before you leave the page.
Gift Letter Fields
The gift letter identifies the donor and recipient, records the amount and states whether repayment is required. Enter the donor's address and the recipient's relationship to the donor. Add the transfer date and a property address or loan application reference.
Required details left empty appear as blank lines in the letter and in the unfinished-fields list. Signature and signing-date lines remain blank for the donor to complete. Your entries stay in this browser.
For example, entering a gift of $40,000 produces $40,000.00 in the letter. Leaving the transfer date empty preserves a blank line and lists the date as unfinished. The tool supplies neither an example identity nor a date.
Gift or Loan
An unconditional gift does not require repayment. Select gift only when the donor expects neither repayment nor a share of the property in return. If the money must be repaid, select loan and enter the repayment deadline, interest and any other agreed conditions.
Loan mode generates a loan declaration and removes the gift statement. For a $40,000 interest-free loan repayable on sale, enter “On sale of the property” and “No interest”. Those terms appear in the declaration.
Macquarie's gift and loan declaration separates gifts from repayable funds. Its loan fields request the repayment due date, interest and other conditions. This generator records the selected arrangement without determining a lender's approval.
You can edit the generated document directly. After an edit, form changes stop replacing the letter. Use “Discard edits and rebuild from the form” to apply the form again. Copy, download and print use the displayed text, including your edits.
Checking the Letter Before Submission
Read the letter against the donor's actual agreement before signing. Confirm the amount and transfer date against the bank records. List the supporting documents you will attach, such as a statement showing the transfer.
Lenders have their own evidence requirements. ING's home loan forms include a Gift Policy Statutory Declaration. A general letter does not replace a lender's required form or witnessing process.
The donor signs and dates the completed document. For a repayable arrangement, the parties can need a separate loan agreement. Keep that agreement consistent with the declaration and disclose the repayment obligation in the loan application.
Print or save PDF opens your browser's print dialog. Download text file saves an editable text document. The tool sends neither the letter nor its supporting evidence to a lender.
