Sherlok and Hound Group Alternative

Track My Trail is a Sherlok alternative for brokers who need to explain trail-income changes while Sherlok has paused new onboarding. Sherlok’s site directs prospective customers to a waitlist. We analyse the commission reports your aggregator already sends, so you can find missing trail and see which accounts changed your income.

Sherlok’s application preparation and automated retention workflows serve different needs. Choose by the work your brokerage needs done before replacing an existing subscription.

Mortgage Broker at Relax Home Loans

Track My Trail picked up $1,450 from an account that went 25 months unpaid. Had no idea it was sitting there until the tool flagged it - the app paid for itself!

I love that they continue to improve it and give me instant data on areas of my business I should focus on.

Choose by the Broker Task

Choose Track My Trail when your question is why paid trail fell, which loans stopped paying or how each broker contributes to income. Quick Analysis compares two monthly reports. Trail History keeps the reports you choose to store for longer-term investigation.

Sherlok fits application preparation through InstantAPPLY and rate monitoring through RateTraker. A commission report describes money paid to your brokerage. A fact-find describes the borrower’s circumstances, while loan-rate data helps you assess their existing loan.

Our rate-review tools also help with retention. With the client’s open banking consent, Refinance Finder adds their current loan rate, balance and offset beside the trail figures. Lender Rates compares published home-loan products from 121 lenders. You assess the client’s options and handle any lender request separately from commission analysis.

Keep InstantAPPLY and RateTraker Separate

Sherlok describes InstantAPPLY as a client-link workflow for fact-finds and bank statements. It categorises expenses, obtains credit reports and pre-populates Quickli scenarios. Its documented CRM push is to AFG. You review the application information and lodge the loan.

RateTraker monitors loan rates and produces refinance alerts after the customer invitation and consent process. Sherlok says RateTraker works with any aggregator. That claim applies to rate monitoring and does not establish an InstantAPPLY connection to every CRM.

RateTraker’s platform agreement includes assessing repricing eligibility and requesting a lower rate from the existing lender. Its borrower terms keep the broker responsible for assessing suitability. Commission analysis gives you a separate view of income already received.

Commission Changes That Need Attention

Quick Analysis separates changes in the accounts behind your trail total. Lost accounts need a different investigation from a large repayment on a continuing loan. Trail by Broker shows each broker’s contribution, and lender concentration shows where your income depends on particular lenders.

For an illustrative example, suppose paid trail falls from $12,000 to $11,400 between two reports. The $600 drop is a prompt to compare the reports, after allowing for month length. Start with the accounts that disappeared and the loans whose balances fell sharply.

A discharged client explains lost income differently from a continuing loan missing from the statement. Use the loan reference and payment periods to raise a commission query with your aggregator. That investigation does not request a lower borrower rate from the lender.

Missing Trail Analysis uses stored history to distinguish trail that stopped and later returned from discharged loans. You can mark each loan as reviewed. This helps you avoid reopening the same commission query while still following up a genuine payment gap.

Refinance Finder builds a separate review queue from settlement age and loan balance. Reviewing a client returns their loan to the queue after 90 days. You can investigate paid trail and organise client reviews from the same history without treating an income drop as proof of an uncompetitive rate.

Access, Included Usage and Subscription Terms

Sherlok’s subscription includes both products for active customers. InstantAPPLY includes unlimited bank statements and 10 Experian credit reports per month. The report allowance is distinct from unlimited statement access. New customers face the onboarding pause, while existing customers have product access through their portal.

Sherlok pricing must be considered with usage terms. Its Fair Use Policy treats bulk repricing and more than 10 active reprice requests a day as unreasonable use. It also states that annual subscriptions are non-refundable. These terms do not make every activity across the suite unlimited.

Track My Trail starts with your aggregator’s commission reports. Upload two monthly CSV, XLS or XLSX reports for Quick Analysis. Supported formats include AFG, LMG, Finsure and Connective. Other aggregators use the Generic CSV template or PDF to CSV. Our supported aggregator reports guide explains the available formats.

Excel Escape includes Quick Analysis, which stores nothing. Pro Performance adds opt-in Trail History and Historical Analysis for the most recent two years of one trail book. Elite Suite includes the full history, up to five trail books and PDF to CSV. The owner and four teammates can share its dashboards through separate logins.

Billing is monthly or yearly, and prices include GST. You can cancel a monthly plan at any time, change plans or switch billing from your account page. See Track My Trail’s subscription plans for current prices. The free trial lasts 7 days and requires no credit card.

Compare Outputs Without Inventing Connections

Choose the output that answers your question. Application data, borrower loan-rate data and paid commission records are separate data sets.

Tool Input Output Your Follow-Up
Track My Trail Paid commission records from aggregator reports; client-consented loan data for rate reviews Income changes, missing trail, broker contributions and review queues Query the aggregator about payments or review a client’s loan
InstantAPPLY Client fact-find and connected bank information Application data with statements and credit information Review the file and lodge the application
RateTraker Borrower loan-rate data with consent Rate assessments and refinance alerts Assess the borrower’s options and the appropriate lender action

An application sent to AFG is not a commission report uploaded to Track My Trail. Likewise, a refinance alert does not confirm that every expected payment arrived. Keep the evidence for each follow-up with the workflow that produced it.

If You Used Hound Group

Hound’s official site says Hound and Sherlok have joined forces and directs product updates to Sherlok. Treat your decision as a review of the Sherlok workflow you now use. Our Sherlok guide explains the products and the Hound relationship.

Before cancelling an account, settle these continuity questions with Sherlok:

  • Confirm which account gives you access to existing client records and active workflows.
  • Establish which records you can export and the client permissions that apply to their later use.
  • Identify the agreement that controls your subscription, renewal and cancellation notice.
  • Resolve how cancellation affects outstanding repricing requests or an application already being prepared.

Keep Sherlok when those application or retention workflows serve your brokerage. If your unresolved question concerns paid commissions, trial Track My Trail using your aggregator statement. A former Hound account does not need to be cancelled for you to investigate that separate income question.

A Practical Choice for Your Brokerage

Use Track My Trail for the commission job when missing payments or unexplained trail changes drive your software decision. Keep Sherlok for a workflow your brokerage already relies on, and add income analysis when you also need payment evidence. You can compare other tools by their jobs in our software alternatives directory.

For a specific trail-income question, bring two supported monthly reports to Quick Analysis. The comparison shows which accounts changed and gives you a starting point for follow-up with your aggregator.
