PDF Compressor

Compress, reorder and redact local PDFs before preparing a lender upload package.

Local documents

Files and passwords stay on your device. Maximum 8 files, 50 MB total and 60 source pages. Forms, signatures, annotations and portfolios are unsupported.

Selecting new files clears the current package. Source files stay intact.

Used for all selected files. Process files separately when their passwords differ.

No documents selected.

Upload package

Leave blank for all pages. Use file:page entries such as 1:2, 1:1, 2:1 to select and reorder pages.

Preparation method

Keep text rebuilds page objects without image downsampling. Image modes lose searchable text. Bookmarks are omitted in every mode. Redaction requires image mode.

Save selected pages as

Enter the lender's upload limit. MB means 1,000,000 bytes. A smaller file is not guaranteed.

Remove a region

Coordinates are percentages from the displayed source page's top-left corner. Add a margin around every item to remove.

No regions selected.

No pages

Preview every prepared page before saving. Image output has no searchable text. Reopen the saved copy and check the removed regions at full size.

Document processing stays in this browser. This tool does not recover passwords or bypass encryption. Keep the original evidence and follow the lender's upload and redaction rules.

Redaction creates a new image-only PDF from the final pixels. Original text, attachments and metadata are excluded. Inspect every page because image conversion can reduce readability.

Reducing PDF File Size

PDF compression can reduce an evidence package's size, but a small file still needs readable dates and figures. The tool shows actual source and output sizes. It warns when an output exceeds your target or grows.

Keep text uses lossless page copying and object-stream optimisation. It preserves the selected pages' text and image resolution. It can remove unused document-level objects, but an already optimised PDF can stay the same size or grow.

Image modes render each selected page at 144 or 96 dots per inch, then use JPEG compression. Lower resolution removes image detail. These modes also remove selectable text and document navigation. Small vector PDFs often grow when converted to images.

The 5 MB starting target is an example, not a lender rule. Enter the limit for your upload. If reaching it makes account numbers or transactions unreadable, use a larger package or separate PDFs that the lender accepts.

Preparing the Upload Package

Open your local PDFs, then inspect the source preview. File numbers follow the order shown beneath the file picker. A page selection of 1:2, 1:1 puts the first file's second page before its first page. Unlisted pages are excluded.

Choose one package to merge the selected pages, or separate PDFs to split them into one-page files. Prepare preview reopens the exact generated bytes. Visit every output page and confirm readability before the save buttons unlock.

A known password opens a local document you are authorised to use. Encrypted documents export through image mode, so the saved copy has no opening password or searchable text. The tool never attempts password recovery.

PDFs with signature fields, digital signatures, forms or annotations are refused. Rebuilding a signed PDF would invalidate its signature. Keep signed originals and follow the lender's instructions for submitting them.

Preparation changes the package, not the facts in the evidence. Keep the source files intact. Check that every required page remains present and readable after reordering or splitting.

Privacy and Lender Requirements

Files and entered passwords stay in browser memory. Clear documents releases the active documents and generated download links. Close the page when finished and store any downloaded client evidence under your brokerage's document policy.

For redaction, enter a region on the displayed source page and choose an image mode. The tool covers those pixels before creating a new PDF. Original page objects and hidden text never enter that redacted output.

An opaque rectangle drawn over retained PDF text can leave the text recoverable. This tool's image output removes the original text layer entirely. Search and copy checks therefore find no text, including text outside the removed region.

Check the exact output preview, then reopen the saved copy at full size. Inspect every removed region and confirm that neighbouring information is readable. Only redact information the lender permits you to withhold.

The lender's upload rules govern accepted file sizes, page order and signed documents. This tool refuses unsupported features before export. Large pages and complex PDFs can exceed browser limits even within the file-size allowance.
