Frollo Financial Passport for Mortgage Brokers

The Frollo Financial Passport is a set of downloadable client financial documents available through Frollo for Brokers after the client consents to sharing. It helps you review account activity and prepare a loan file. You still need to check which accounts and periods the documents cover, then resolve gaps with the client.

The Financial Passport and Frollo for Brokers

The Financial Passport is the document set, while Frollo for Brokers is the portal where you receive and refresh client information. Frollo’s help centre lists an Insights PDF, a transaction spreadsheet and account statements or summaries among the downloads.

The consumer Frollo app is a personal money-management service. Clients can use it to share information with a registered broker. A client using a browser invitation can also complete the sharing process without installing the app.

Frollo for Business describes a broader platform for banks, lenders and financial institutions. Its enterprise services and APIs do not establish what an individual mortgage broker can access. Frollo’s broker product page specifically says it does not provide API integration for mortgage broking businesses.

Frollo describes the broker portal as free for brokers and clients. Its role is collecting consented financial information for your fact-find and application preparation. The broader open banking framework for mortgage brokers explains the Consumer Data Right (CDR) behind that process.

Broker Login, Registration and Staff Access

The Frollo broker login is the broker portal reached through Log in on Frollo’s official Frollo for Brokers page. Use that route for broker access, rather than the consumer account used by your client.

Frollo’s registration guide requires current membership of the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) or Finance Brokers Association of Australasia (FBAA). Registration includes identity details and two-factor authentication. The service uses the Trusted Adviser model, and Frollo’s terms require verification of your eligibility.

Frollo’s guide documents individual broker registration, with no company account or shared support-staff role. Its terms prohibit sharing login credentials or allowing another person to use your account. A client’s consent to disclose information to you does not give an administrator permission to sign in as you.

Distinguish portal access from handling a downloaded document. Frollo’s terms require appropriate access controls and limit data access to authorised personnel under confidentiality obligations. Handle saved documents under the client’s authority and your legal and professional duties. Set those controls in your brokerage’s security controls for client files.

How a Client Shares Data With the Broker

Sharing requires permission for Frollo to collect bank data and disclose it to you. Frollo’s client guide describes both permissions within the account-connection journey.

  1. Invite the client through Frollo for Brokers or provide your unique invitation link. An existing Frollo app user can also find a registered broker and choose to share.
  2. The client signs in or creates their Frollo account. They review the collection and disclosure information, including the recipient, data requested and sharing period.
  3. The client connects each relevant institution. Their bank authenticates them and lets them select eligible accounts. Frollo says clients do not give it their online banking password.
  4. The client completes sharing with the broker. Frollo’s invitation guide says you receive an email when their data and documents are available. Open the client record and confirm the expected accounts appear before relying on a download.

Frollo documents sharing periods of three, six or twelve months. This consent duration is separate from the transaction-history period selected for a report.

Before requesting refreshed information, check that collection consent for the relevant institution and disclosure consent to you remain active. Frollo’s renewal guides separate incoming bank data from outgoing disclosure to the Trusted Adviser. Renewing disclosure alone does not renew the bank connection.

If consent expires or the client withdraws it, stop treating the portal as an ongoing source of authorised access. A document already saved in your loan file is a separate record. Apply your retention duties and permitted purpose to that copy, and assess any withdrawal request under your privacy procedures. Do not assume that changing portal consent deletes your brokerage’s saved files.

What the Financial Passport Contains

The Financial Passport combines summaries with transaction-level information from the accounts the client has linked and shared. Its coverage depends on those accounts and the selected reporting period.

Frollo describes the Insights PDF as a summary of linked accounts, income, liabilities and expenses. It includes living-expense averages and prompts for discussion about spending or account conduct. Account details can include balances and interest rates.

The transaction spreadsheet supports analysis over three, six or twelve months. Frollo’s report guide names a dashboard, ApplyOnline Categories and a transactions tab. You can inspect individual transactions and recategorise them, with category changes feeding the spreadsheet’s relevant averages.

Statements and summaries provide evidence for individual linked accounts. Frollo describes summaries as proof-of-balance documents and says statements can be regenerated during the consent period.

Generated categories and discussion prompts need review. An income label does not explain whether a credit is salary, a reimbursement or a transfer between the client’s accounts. A spending category does not establish whether a recurring debit is an expense or a loan repayment. Compare the underlying entries with the client’s explanation and the evidence your lender requires.

Review the Passport Before Using It in a Loan File

Review the Financial Passport against the client’s declared position before using its figures or attaching documents to an application. Frollo’s terms make the broker responsible for checking the data’s accuracy, completeness and suitability.

Consider this hypothetical borrower. Their fact-find lists a salary account, an offset account and a credit card, but the downloaded documents cover only the first two. The salary account also shows an unexplained recurring debit of $240.

Compare the account list with the fact-find and ask the client about the missing credit card. Establish whether they omitted it from sharing or whether the institution or account is unavailable. Ask them to connect the account where supported, or supply the lender’s required alternative evidence.

Ask what the $240 debit pays for. Suppose the client explains that it repays a personal loan omitted from the fact-find. Record their explanation, add the liability and obtain evidence of the balance, limit and repayments. Reconcile it with the declared expenses so the same repayment is not counted twice. Keep the original download alongside your review notes and any corrected working spreadsheet.

Before submission, check the following points.

  • Match the borrower and account identifiers to the file, including every disclosed liability.
  • Confirm each document’s start and end period meets the lender’s evidence requirements. A longer consent period does not guarantee a longer transaction history.
  • Review unusual credits, recurring debits and category changes against the underlying transactions.
  • Confirm the lender accepts the document type and obtain any additional evidence it requires.

For ApplyOnline, Frollo documents reuse of completed consent requests for the same broker-client relationship. Its guide distinguishes information available to the broker from documents sent to the lender. Only documents attached to the lender submission checklist are sent on submission, so review those attachments before lodging.

Successful retrieval means you can open the expected documents and reconcile their account coverage with the file. An invitation email alone does not establish that result. If accounts or documents are absent, check the client’s sharing choices and consent status first. Use Frollo’s Help Centre support request process for unresolved retrieval problems, identifying the affected institution and document type without sharing your login credentials. Continue the application only when the missing evidence or discrepancy is resolved.
