Mortgage Broker at Relax Home Loans

Track My Trail picked up $1,450 from an account that went 25 months unpaid. Had no idea it was sitting there until the tool flagged it - the app paid for itself!

I love that they continue to improve it and give me instant data on areas of my business I should focus on.

Choose for the Mortgage Income Task

Choose Track My Trail when your question is why mortgage trail changed or which loans stopped paying. Quick Analysis compares two monthly aggregator reports and shows clients added or dropped off. It also identifies discharges and large balance changes that affect your income.

For gaps across stored reports, Missing Trail Analysis separates trail that stopped and later returned from clients who discharged. You can raise a payment query with the aggregator using the affected months and amounts.

Iress describes Xplan as financial-planning and wealth-management software. An advice practice cannot replace client advice files or compliance workflows with a broker income tool. Those records support a different job from explaining aggregator-paid mortgage commissions.

Keep Advice Xplan and Xplan Mortgage Distinct

Financial-advice Xplan and Xplan Mortgage are separately documented Iress products. Advice Xplan manages the advice process and its client documentation. Xplan Mortgage covers mortgage and protection sourcing, with mortgage-process and client-management tools.

The Xplan Mortgage FAQ uses pounds-based subscription terms and discusses Trigold, showing its UK-oriented mortgage context. That product description does not establish Australian availability or the same features in advice Xplan. A shared product name is insufficient reason to treat the two systems as interchangeable.

Compare Investment Portfolios With Commission Records

An investment portfolio records a client’s assets and their performance. An aggregator commission statement records payments to your brokerage for its mortgage book. Advice fees, investment returns and mortgage trail measure different things.

Iress describes Xplan Portfolio as software for constructing and managing investment portfolios, including portfolio reporting. Its advice platform fact sheet also describes fact-finding, strategy modelling and advice-document generation. Those outputs support the advice practice’s work with clients.

Work to Complete Advice Xplan’s Role Track My Trail’s Mortgage Trail View
Fact-finding Capture information for financial planning Analyse client loans and commissions from aggregator reports
Strategy modelling Compare financial-planning scenarios Explain changes in paid trail and loan balances
Statements of advice Generate advice documents from stored client data and templates Produce commission analysis for the brokerage’s income investigation
Portfolio reporting Report on client investment holdings and performance Show trail contribution and lender concentration in the mortgage book
Missing mortgage payments Keep the advice file and its workflow with the advice team Missing Trail Analysis identifies interrupted trail across stored reports

A client can have investments in an advice file and a mortgage in your trail book. The investment balance does not establish whether the aggregator paid that client’s mortgage trail.

Give Each Team the Output It Needs

Brokerage owners use client and lender contributions to see where mortgage income is concentrated. A large client’s discharge can explain a fall in trail despite new settlements. Lender concentration shows how much of the book’s income depends on loans with one lender.

Trail by Broker breaks down the brokerage’s trail on every plan, and analysis can be filtered to one broker. Owners can use that view to investigate whose book changed and where a payment follow-up belongs.

Advice supervisors need the advice team’s client files and review records. Mortgage administrators need loan references and statement periods to investigate remuneration. Even when both teams work in one business, a paid-trail report cannot establish the suitability of financial advice.

Check Data and Purchasing Requirements

Track My Trail starts with the reports your aggregator sends. For Quick Analysis, upload two monthly reports in a supported CSV, XLS or XLSX format. Quick Analysis stores nothing.

Our report coverage includes AFG, LMG, Finsure and Connective, alongside smaller aggregators. For an aggregator outside our supported report families, use the Generic CSV template or PDF to CSV. PDF to CSV is included with Elite Suite and lets you check converted rows before analysis.

Excel Escape includes Quick Analysis. Pro Performance adds opt-in Trail History and Historical Analysis for the most recent two years of one trail book. Elite Suite includes full history, up to five trail books and logins for the owner plus four teammates.

Billing is monthly or yearly, and prices include GST. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. You can change your plan or billing cycle from the account page. Use the Track My Trail pricing page for current subscription details.

Budget for Xplan through the Iress Xplan advice-software guide, which explains its role and quote considerations. Xplan licensing and a trail-analysis subscription purchase different work, so their costs are not directly comparable.

The Track My Trail workflow uses aggregator statements. It does not depend on importing Xplan client files or synchronising advice records.

Retain the Advice System Where Required

Keep advice Xplan when your practice needs its financial-planning administration and client advice files. Mortgage sourcing needs a product suited to the market where you operate. Choose Track My Trail to explain Australian aggregator-paid trail and investigate mortgage-income gaps.

This choice does not require moving your advice practice into another system. Your mortgage team can analyse its commission reports while the advice team continues its existing workflow. The broker software alternatives directory compares other tools by the work they handle.

A Broker Income Check to Start With

Start with a fall in total trail between two supported monthly statements. Upload both to Quick Analysis and inspect the clients who dropped off alongside discharges and large balance reductions. This establishes which reported loan movements contribute to the income change.

For example, a client can disappear from the later statement while another client’s balance falls after a large repayment. The two movements call for different follow-up. A missing entry needs investigation before you conclude that an aggregator owes money.

If you store report history, Missing Trail Analysis can identify an interruption followed by resumed payments and quantify the missing periods. The report gives your mortgage team evidence for an aggregator query. Advice suitability and mortgage sourcing stay with the systems and people responsible for that work.
